The heat pump - environmentally friendly and inexpensive:
With a heat pump and controlled ventilation system as heating systems in combination with geothermal heat, a substantial contribution can be made to energy saving through the use of renewable energies.
Already today, heat pump heating systems are clearly superior to gas and oil heating systems with regard to CO2 emissions and primary energy consumption, and substantially more environmentally friendly.
The heating technology of the heat pump in combination with geothermal heat offers the most convincing alternative to conventional heating systems now and in the future. The technology of the heat pump has been mature for many years. As far back as 1938 a heat pump was used for the first time in Switzerland, and in 1969 in Germany. It offers proven energy-saving system solutions that provide a building with heat with 100% reliability. Building owners, planners and architects are offered a wide spectrum in the designing of the building project. The heat pump is a simple, technically robust and also inexpensive heating system.
Owing to the lower energy and operating costs, the heat pump is also much more attractive than conventional heating systems from the economic point of view. In addition, no annual servicing, in contrast with conventional gas and oil heating systems, is required for a heat pump. Already today, servicing intervals of 15 years can be achieved.
The heat pump uses the ambient air, the ground, or ground water as heat sources. The solar energy stored in these media is an energy source whose finiteness is estimated at several billion years and that delivers around 17,000 times more energy annually than the global annual energy requirement. The principle of the heat pump is already widespread throughout the world and can be described as that of a refrigerator working in reverse. In the case of a heat pump, 75% of the energy for heating systems is generated from environmental or solar energy and only 25% from electrical energy.
In a closed cooling circuit, solar energy is tapped from the environment and supplied to the refrigerant. The compressor in the heat pump compresses the refrigerant and thus increases its temperature to a level that is usable for heating systems. The electrical energy used for compression is present in the refrigerant and is not lost. With a minimum energy use of 1 kW for operating current, 4 kW of heating energy can be generated through the use of the free energy, e.g. geothermal heat, existing in nature. This corresponds to a coefficient of performance of 4.
Ventilation - High air quality for a healthy room climate:
Controlled ventilation also offers the advantage of energy saving and reduction of heating costs and can be combined with geothermal heat. Ventilation of a building only via a window is insufficient. Only with controlled ventilation can a healthy room climate be created. The ventilation system constantly transports fresh, filtered and oxygen-rich supply air into the building.
At the same time, the used, contaminated and oxygen-deficient exhaust air is evacuated. A healthy room climate is created. Unwanted odours, harmful substances and humidity are discharged in a controlled manner by the ventilation system. The ventilation system reliably prevents humidity from seeping through the walls. Damage through humidity in the building and the formation of mould
are avoided. For ventilation, geothermal heat can also be used. For this purpose a ground-coupled heat exchanger is installed upstream. This consists of a system of pipes laid in the ground. When fresh air is aspirated over the ground-coupled heat exchanger it is preheated by the geothermal heat. In summer the temperature of the geothermal heat is lower than the outside air temperature. In combination with
the ground-coupled heat exchanger the ventilation system offers the very pleasant advantages of cooling the fresh air and climatizing the building in an environmentally friendly manner.
